Punk Hardcore

When you think of punk hardcore in Australia you may not come up with the idea of vegetarianism.  But the truth is that many hardcore punk rockers are members of a sub-culture of people who are called “straight edge”. These are people who might visit Punk Hardcore for their love of all things punk rock; the only difference is they may have a much stricter diet than others who share a love for the hard core punk scene. 

 The things you might find a ‘straight edge’ hardcore punk lover eating are going to be different than someone who is not a member of this sub-culture.  This group lives a much cleaner life than you might link with the images of those you associate with the hardcore punk scene.  A vegetarian diet where a plant based diet is embraced and meat is often abhorred is common place among the straight edge crowd. 

In addition this specific sect of the punk hardcore scene is also known for saying no to alchohol, tobacco, and the use of all recreational drugs.  This is clean living at its best, the interesting thing is that many would be surprised to find out about this phenomenon.  I mean a hippie yes, but the hardcore punk rocker, who would have thought it?
